The new iPad Pro model for this year is expected to launch in the coming month, and many look forward to the launch of the new Apple tablet. Among the various top specifications that have been leaked previously, there is now the strong possibility that the new iPad Pro will be equipped with an A14X processor with performance similar to that of the Apple’s MacBook based on M1 chip.
9to5Mac found references to this new processor in the iOS 14.5 beta code, which is now available to developers and users interested in the test version of Cupertino’s mobile operating system. The code name of this alleged new chip is “13G” and the 9to5Mac guarantees that it is the A14X SoC, a super powerful variant of the A14 Bionic.
iPad Pro 2021 will be Apple’s most powerful ever
The same medium also revels that this A14X is based on the T8103 chip, the code name used by Apple when developing the M1 processor that equips the new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. This information goes against Bloomberg’s assertion that the iPad Pro 2021 will have an updated processor and a performance similar to that of the Apple Silicon M1.
This year’s iPad Pro model should also renew its screen, serving as the gateway to the Cupertino giant on devices with a OLED panel. Other rumors point to the inclusion of a Thunderbolt port and improved cameras, features that may contribute to the brand’s goal of transforming the tablet into a mobility-oriented computer.
Although nothing official, it is expected that Apple will organize an event during the month of April, where it should present this and other new products, such as the long-awaited AirTags or the new AirPods.
